Regular Season Round 5: SIG - Pau Orthez 82-49

SIG has registered their first victory this season after three consecutive loses. The win is especially important as they outplayed much higher ranked Pau Lacq Orthez (3-2) 82-49 on Saturday. The game without a history. SIG led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 20 Pau Lacq Orthez turnovers. Louise Dambach (175-96) stepped up and scored 20 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and Awa Sissoko (178-94) chipped in 21 points. SIG's coach Philippe Breitenbucher felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Naturalized Senegalese forward Mariame Dia (185-78) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and forward Emilienne Vidal (181-91) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. SIG (1-3) left bottom position moving up to eighth place, which they share with Roche. Newly promoted Pau Lacq Orthez dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with Laveyron. SIG will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Pau Lacq Orthez will play at home against CFBB (#11) in Paris and is hoping to win this game.
