Regular Season Round 11: Fujitsu RW - Toyota A. 58-57

Fifth-ranked Toyota A. (5-4) gave a tough game to leader Fujitsu RW (9-0) in Kawasaki on Saturday. Fujitsu RW managed to secure only one-point victory 58-57. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Toyota A.. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 58-57. It was a great evening for international swingman Eri Nakahata (165-88) who led her team to a victory scoring 11 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals. International forward Yoko Nagi (175-82) helped adding 13 points and 5 rebounds. Fujitsu RW's coach Yabuuchi Natsumi used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The former international forward Ryoko Yano (178-78) responded with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks and power forward Mami Ikeda (178-81) scored 8 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Fujitsu RW have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place with 9-0 record, which they share with JX Sunflowers. Toyota A. at the other side keeps the fifth position with four games lost. Fujitsu RW is again looking forward to face Toyota A. (#5) in Nagoya in the next round. Toyota A. will have a break next round.
