There was no surprise in Uusikaupunki where 12th ranked UU-Korihait (1-6) was crushed by seventh ranked Joensuun Kataja (4-3) 100-74. The game was mostly controlled by Joensuun Kataja. UU-Korihait was better in second period 27-26. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Joensuun Kataja made 16-of-18 charity shots (88.9 percent) during the game. The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Johnell Smith (180-80, college: New Orleans) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 6 assists. Forward Julian Terrell (206-84, college: Vanderbilt) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Five Joensuun Kataja players scored in double figures. Guard Daniel Horton (191-84, college: Michigan, agency: KMG Sports Management) answered with 15 points and 4 assists and forward Ramon Dyer (201-84, college: Houston) added 15 points in the effort for UU-Korihait. Joensuun Kataja moved-up to sixth place, which they share with KTP. UU-Korihait lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with six games lost. Joensuun Kataja will play against Forssan Koripojat (#10) at home in the next round. UU-Korihait will play against KTP-Basket in Kotka to get more than just one victory in their record.
