Regular Season Round 7: Okinawa GK - Shiga L-Stars 90-69

Undefeated leader Okinawa GK delivered the sixth consecutive victory on Sunday night. This time they crushed 5th ranked Shiga L-Stars (3-3) 90-69. The game was mostly controlled by Okinawa GK. Shiga L-Stars managed to win fourth quarter 30-27. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Okinawa GK made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. They also forced 23 Shiga L-Stars turnovers. It was a great evening for American Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) who led his team to a victory scoring 31 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Narito Namizato (172-89) helped adding 33 points (!!!) and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws). At the losing side American forward Ray Nixon (203-84, college: Wisconsin, agency: Top Notch Sports) responded with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Panamanian forward Dionisio Gomez Camargo (203-80, college: Arkansas) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Shiga L-Stars' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Okinawa GK (6-0) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with a perfect record of 6 victories in a row. Loser Shiga L-Stars keep the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with Niigata Albirex and Fukuoka Rizing. Okinawa GK will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Shiga L-Stars will play against the league's second-placed Oita Heat Devils (#2) and hope to secure a win.
