Regular Season Round 5: JyWe - TuNMKY 74-88

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of JyWe (3-2) in Jyvaskyla on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by TuNMKY (4-1) 88-74. It was a key game for the top position in Division as both teams had the same 3-1 record before this meeting. The game was mostly controlled by TuNMKY. JyWe managed to win second period 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was forward Sakari Salminen (200-87) who had a double-double by scoring 31 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Oscar Lindqvist (188-90) chipped in 18 points. TuNMKY's coach Ray Ailus used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Ville Pyykkonen (203-77) produced 24 points and 7 rebounds and center Harri Keskitalo (210-90) added 12 points and 12 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four JyWe players scored in double figures. TuNMKY keeps a position of Division leader. JyWe at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. TuNMKY are looking forward to face Jarvenpaa (#6) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. JyWe will have a break next round.
