Regular Season Round 6: Mirandola - Matera 59-71

Very predictable result when third ranked Matera (5-1) defeated on the road 16th ranked Mirandola (1-5) 71-59. It looked good early as Mirandola took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Matera had a 19-10 second period charge getting the lead and Mirandola was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 59-71. It was a good game for point guard Carlo Cantone (187-85) who led his team to a victory with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Power forward Antonio Iannuzzi (207-91, agency: Two Points) contributed with 9 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Four Matera players scored in double figures. point guard Jordan Losi (182-80, agency: Two Points) replied with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international swingman Andrea Pilotti (196-80, agency: Players Group) added 17 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Mirandola. Matera have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Mirandola lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the sixteenth position with five games lost. Matera's next round opponent will be Recanati (#13) at home which should be an easy win for them. Mirandola will play against Torino.
