Regular Season Round 7: Chiba Jets - Shinshu BW 71-85

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Shinshu BW (5-1) defeated on the road 10th ranked Chiba Jets (1-5) 85-71 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 13 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 14 points. Shinshu BW dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Chiba Jets' 38 and made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. The game was also dominated by American players. Power forward Edward Morris (205-84, college: Pittsburg St.) fired 22 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Forward Jermaine Green (203-80, college: N.Texas) chipped in 24 points and 7 rebounds. Four Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. Swingman D'Andre Bell (198-87, college: Georgia Tech) produced 18 points and 7 rebounds and center Joe Werner (201-84, college: Wisc.-La Cros.) added 17 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. The victory was the third consecutive win for Shinshu BW. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Oita H.Devils. Chiba Jets lost their fifth game in a row. They dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. Shinshu BW will face Niigata Albirex (#5) at home in the next round. Chiba Jets will play against Saitama Broncos and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
