The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Olimpia GrGAU as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Olimpia GrGAU defeated 3rd placed Tsmoki-Minsk in Grodno 66-55. The game was mostly controlled by Olimpia GrGAU. Tsmoki-Minsk managed to win second period 21-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Tsmoki-Minsk to just 4 points in first quarter. Olimpia GrGAU made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Tsmoki-Minsk 44-30 including 17 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was Maryia Papova (186-94) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. International Maryia Filonchyk (187-92) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Four Olimpia GrGAU players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was international power forward Volha Istseliatsova (189-88) who recorded 17 points and 7 rebounds and international center Viktoriya Hasper (193-88) added 8 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Tsmoki-Minsk's coach Nikolay Buzlyakov rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Olimpia GrGAU have a solid series of three victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Tsmoki-Minsk at the other side keeps the third place with one game lost. They share the position with Berezina. Tsmoki-Minsk will play next round against Victoria-UOR trying to get back on the winning streak. Olimpia GrGAU will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
