Date: October 28, 2012
The most exciting game of round 6 in the LFB took place in Nantes. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 7th ranked Mondeville (3-3) to second ranked Nantes Reze (5-1) 60-58 on Sunday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Mondeville trailed by 11 points at halftime and as many as 16 after three quarters before a 24-10 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 58-60 at the end of the game. Nantes Reze dominated on the defensive end, holding Mondeville to just 6 points in first quarter. The former international Sarah Michel (180-89) scored 12 points and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Isis Arrondo (166-89) chipped in 7 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was point guard Ingrid Tanqueray (166-88) with 17 points and Mali center Naignouma Coulibaly (191-89) scored 8 points and 7 rebounds. Mondeville's coach Herve Coudray rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Nantes Reze maintains second position with 5-1 record behind leader Lattes Montp. Mondeville at the other side keeps the seventh place with three games lost. They share the position with Toulouse. Nantes Reze are looking forward to face league's leader Lattes Montpellier on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Mondeville will play against Aix-en-Provence (#9) in Les Milles and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
