Very expected game when 14th ranked Angelico Biella (1-4) was crushed at home by fourth ranked Montepaschi Siena (4-1) 81-56 on Monday. The game without a history. Montepaschi Siena led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Angelico Biella to just 6 points in second quarter. American point guard Bobby Brown (188-84, college: CS Fullerton) stepped up and scored 20 points for the winners and the former international guard Marco Carraretto (197-77, agency: Players Group) chipped in 14 points. Zimbabwean forward Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH) responded with 14 points and 5 rebounds and American-Guinean guard Russell Robinson (185-86) scored 10 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion moved-up to third place. Loser Angelico Biella keeps the fourteenth position with four games lost. Montepaschi Siena will face Armani Milano (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
