Regular Season Round 7: Bologna - Agrigento 91-76

Everything could happen in Ozzano Emilia at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked Bologna and 7th ranked Agrigento had identical 4-2 record. This time Bologna used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Agrigento 91-76 on Thursday night. The game was mostly controlled by Bologna. Agrigento was better in fourth quarter 31-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Bologna especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. Point guard Alessandro Piazza (174-87) fired a double-double by scoring 11 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. Forward Riccardo Pederzini (198-89) chipped in 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Bologna's coach Massimo Padovano used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Riccardo Castelli (200-88) produced 18 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) and guard Paolo Mossi (193-76) added 11 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Five Bologna and four Agrigento players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Bologna. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Lucca and Torino. Newly promoted Agrigento keeps the seventh position with three games lost. Bologna will face Castelletto (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Agrigento will play against Bari and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
