Leader Halcones UV Xalapa delivered the eighteenth victory. This time they beat 11th ranked Correcaminos (7-12) 102-91 in Ciudad Victoria. The game was mostly controlled by Halcones UV Xalapa. Correcaminos was better in fourth quarter 27-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of international guard Orlando Mendez-Valdez (185-86, college: W.Kentucky) who helped to win the game recording 25 points. The former international center Lorenzo Mata (205-86) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Halcones UV Xalapa players scored in double figures. American point guard Myron Allen (182-79, college: Lee JC) answered with 24 points and 8 rebounds and naturalized American guard Lorenzo Keeler (188-85, college: Cal Poly - SLO) added 27 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Correcaminos. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Halcones UV Xalapa (18-1) have an impressive series of twelve victories in a row. They maintain first place. Correcaminos lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 12 games lost. Halcones UV Xalapa will play against Huracanes (#10) in Tampico in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Correcaminos will play at home against Halcones Rojos in Veracruz and hope to get back on the winning track.
