Regular Season Round 6: BC Nokia - ToPo 81-93

An interesting game for Torpan Pojat (4-2) which played road game in Nokia against 3rd ranked BC Nokia (2-2). Second ranked Torpan Pojat managed to get a 12-point victory 93-81. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 93-81. Torpan Pojat made 26-of-33 free shots (78.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 BC Nokia turnovers. BC Nokia was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American forward HL Coleman (202-74, college: Wyoming) who led his team to a victory with 21 points and 9 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Forward Elias Kajander (196-80) contributed with 21 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winners. American power forward Brian Moultrie (198-87, college: Armstr.Atlantic) replied with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 18 rebounds and guard Timo Riihela (193-80) added 14 points and 4 assists in the effort for BC Nokia. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Torpan Pojat maintains second position in Division with 4-2 record behind leader Porvoon Tarmo. Loser BC Nokia dropped to the fifth place with two games lost. Torpan Pojat will have a break next round. BC Nokia will play on the road against Tapiolan Honka (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
