Regular Season Round 3: Kutaisi - STU Tbilisi 76-63

Very predictable result when sixth ranked Kutaisi (2-1) defeated at home bottom-ranked STU (0-3) 76-63 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Kutaisi. STU managed to win fourth quarter 19-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kutaisi forced 22 STU turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was international center Richard Matiashvili (207-89) who scored 17 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Buba Kvimsadze (195-82) chipped in 11 points and 5 rebounds. Four Kutaisi players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Giorgi Pirvelashvili (201-88) who recorded 11 points and 4 assists and forward Zurab Korkotadze (194-83) added 10 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Kutaisi moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Dinamo Tbilisi. Loser STU still closes the standings with three games lost. They share the position with Batumi and Samedicino. Kutaisi will meet at home Dinamo Tbilisi (#5) in the next round.
