There was no surprise when 9th ranked Weert (1-5) was defeated on the road by third ranked Leiden (5-1) 76-64 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Leiden. Weert was better in second period 16-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was Canadian forward Ross Bekkering (203-87) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds. International Worthy de Jong (194-88, agency: R.H.Consultancy) chipped in 17 points.
