Regular Season Round 8: Shinshu BW - Niigata Albirex 59-77

Very important is a home loss of second ranked Shinshu BW (5-2) against fifth ranked Niigata Albirex (4-3) on Saturday night. Host Shinshu BW was defeated by Niigata Albirex in Nagano 77-59. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Shinshu BW. The game was mostly controlled by Niigata Albirex. Shinshu BW was better in second period 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Niigata Albirex dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Shinshu BW's 32. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of center Chris Holm (212-84, college: Vermont, agency: Top Notch Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points, 19 rebounds and 7 assists and guard Nile Murry (193-83, college: TCU) who added 8 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Niigata Albirex's coach Matt Garrison allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Center Wayne Marshall (211-86, college: Temple) responded with 20 points and 6 rebounds and swingman D'Mario Curry (201-85, college: Lincoln Memorial) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Niigata Albirex have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 4-3 record, which they share with Fukuoka Rizing. Shinshu BW at the other side dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. They share the position with Shimane SM. Niigata Albirex will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Shinshu BW will play again at home against Niigata Albirex (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
