Regular Season Round 3: Olimpi - Batumi 94-63

Rather expected game in Tbilisi where bottom-ranked Batumi (0-3) was crushed by leader Olimpi (2-0) 94-63 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Olimpi. Batumi managed to win fourth quarter 22-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Olimpi shot 17 for 26 from the free-throw line, while Batumi only scored one point from the stripe. They outrebounded Batumi 55-28 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Olimpi looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was Levan Fatsatsia who scored 14 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Montenegrin center Stevan Milosevic (211-85, agency: Interperformances) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 16 rebounds. Five Olimpi players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Giorgi Nanitashvili (187-90) who recorded 27 points and naturalized Russian center Giorgi Kvelashvili (206-81) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Olimpi moved-up to third place, which they share with Armia. Loser Batumi still closes the standings with three games lost. They share the position with STU Tbilisi and Samedicino. Olimpi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tbilisi TSU.
