Regular Season Round 3: Tenerife - Orion-GDKO 55-82

Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Tenerife (0-3) was rolled over at home by fourth ranked Orion-GDKO (2-1) 82-55 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Orion-GDKO. Tenerife was better in third quarter 14-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Orion-GDKO dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Tenerife's 26. Orion-GDKO forced 27 Tenerife turnovers. Tenerife was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for center Ana Roman (192-82) who led her team to a victory scoring 22 points (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Argentinian-Czech guard Cecilia Lineira (180-86) helped adding 13 points and 8 rebounds. Five Orion-GDKO players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Alba Pena (177-95) with 22 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Laura Munoz (166-78, agency: Josep and Nicolas) scored 7 points and 4 assists. Orion-GDKO moved-up to third place in Group B, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Tenerife still closes the standings with three games lost. Orion-GDKO will face league's leader Casablanca in Zaragoza in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tenerife will play against Leganes (#11) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
