Regular Season Round 3: Shanxi - Bayi 72-59

There was a change at the WCBA leadership position after last games. Round 3 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Bayi Kylin (2-1). They were defeated by eleventh ranked Shanxi (1-2) 72-59 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Bayi Kylin. The game without a history. Shanxi led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Bayi Kylin's 40. It was a great evening for Spanish Maya Moore (183-89, college: Connecticut) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!), 17 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. The former international forward Yu Zhang (184-86) helped adding 12 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. The best for the losing side was international center Nan Chen (197-83) with 8 points and 10 rebounds and center Mengran Sun (197-92) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Bayi Kylin's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Shanxi left bottom position moving up to sixth place, which they share with 5 other teams. Bayi Kylin at the other side dropped to the third position with one game lost. They share it with Shenyang and Henan. They were replaced at the leadership position by Liaoning. Bayi Kylin will play next round against strong Henan Elephants trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Shanxi will try to continue on its current victory against eleventh ranked Guangdong Dolphins in Guangzhou.
