Very important is a home loss of second ranked Dinos (1-1) against sixth ranked Bisons (1-1) on Saturday night. Host Dinos were defeated by Bisons in a tough game in Calgary, AB 68-76. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 19-13. But Dinos won second period 22-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Bisons won last quarter 24-18. They also forced 20 Dinos turnovers and outrebounded them 42-28 including 28 on the defensive glass. American guard Stephan Walton (178-87, college: Valdosta St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points. Forward Yigit Ozsayiner (198) contributed with 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Walton is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Bisons players scored in double figures. Guard Jarred Ogungbemi-Jackson (175-91) replied with 21 points and 4 steals and Thijin Moses (201) added 8 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Dinos. Dinos' coach tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Bisons left bottom position moving up to third place, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Dinos. Bisons will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Dinos will play at home against the league's leader Golden Bears in Edmonton, AB and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
