Regular Season Round 4: Apollon Patras - Kavala 80-79

Apollon Patras can celebrate their first win this season after three consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Kavala (0-4) 80-79 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Kavala won third quarter 32-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Apollon Patras won last quarter 17-17. Worth to mention a great performance of American Keaton Grant (193-86, college: Purdue) who helped to win the game recording 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import point guard Errick McCollum (185-88, college: Goshen, agency: Gross Zeev ISA) who added 13 points during the contest. Five Apollon Patras players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Yannis Gagaloudis (192-78) responded with 25 points and 4 assists and American forward William Coleman (206-88, college: Memphis) scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Apollon Patras (1-3) left bottom position moving up to eleventh place, which they share with Ilysiakos and Panelefsiniakos. It was Kavala's fourth loss in a row. They still closes the standings with four games lost. Apollon Patras will meet higher ranked Kolossos (#3) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Kavala will play against PAOK (#5) in Thessaloniki and hopes to get finally their first victory.
