Regular Season Round 7: La Rochelle - Orchy 74-72

Undefeated Orchesien BC (4-1) recorded its first loss on the court of fifteenth ranked La Rochelle. Visitors were edged by La Rochelle 74-72. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Orchesien BC. It looked good early as Orchesien BC took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then La Rochelle had a 15-11 second period charge getting the lead and Orchesien BC was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 72-74. It was a great evening for American forward Jarryd Cole (204-88, college: Iowa, agency: JEMsports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds (on 12-of-13 shooting from the field). Naturalized Madagascar swingman Amy M'Boma (199-83) helped adding 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side Serbian power forward Djordje Petrovic (204-84) responded with 20 points and naturalized American Tony Stanley (193-77, college: Dayton) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Four Orchesien BC players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. La Rochelle (2-5) moved-up to thirteenth place. Orchesien BC at the other side keeps the fourth position with one game lost. La Rochelle will play against higher ranked Monaco (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Orchesien BC will play against JA Vichy and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
