Regular Season Round 7: Basket Esch - Residence 93-79

Basket Esch has finally registered their first victory this season after six consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Residence (3-4) 93-79. The game was mostly controlled by Basket Esch. Residence was better in fourth quarter 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Basket Esch dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Residence's 40. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Lawrence Wright (194-84, college: Bradley) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds. Slovakian power forward Stefan Svitek (203-77) contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Five Basket Esch players scored in double figures. American forward Marcus Kennedy (193-84, college: Montevallo, agency: Interperformances) answered with 36 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and international point guard Pitt Koster (182-89) added 19 points in the effort for Residence. Basket Esch maintains ninth place with 1-6 record, which they share with Black Star. Residence at the other side dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. Basket Esch's next round opponent will be higher ranked Musel Pikes (#4) in Stadrbredimus and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Residence will play at home against the league's second-placed Etzella having rather not much hope for a victory.
