Regular Season Round 20: Panteras - Lechugueros 84-82

Twelfth-ranked Lechugueros (6-14) were very close to win a game against fifth ranked Panteras (13-7) in Aguascalientes. Panteras managed to secure only two-point victory 84-82. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Lechugueros won third quarter 20-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American guard Nate Miller (193-87, college: Bowling Green, agency: KMG Sports Management) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Puerto Rican point guard Ricardo Melendez (179-83, agency: Paris Global Sports) chipped in 27 points. Panteras' coach Juan Cardona allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Senegalese center Babacar Camara (211-81, college: CS Fullerton) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward James Penny (198-76, college: TCU) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Lechugueros players scored in double figures. Panteras have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 13-7 record, which they share with Pioneros. Lechugueros at the other side keep the twelfth place with 14 games lost. Panteras' next round opponent will be league's leader Halcones UV Xalapa on the road and it may be quite challenging game. Lechugueros will play against Huracanes (#10) in Tampico and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
