The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Filathlitikos as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Filathlitikos smashed 3rd ranked Lavrio at home 89-65. The game was mostly controlled by Filathlitikos. Lavrio managed to win second period 20-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Filathlitikos forced 25 Lavrio turnovers and outrebounded them 36-23 including 26 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Lavrio's players. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Giannis Adetocunbo (205-94, agency: FCM) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Christos Saloustros (201-90) contributed with 17 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four Filathlitikos players scored in double figures. Guard Christos Liberopoulos (185-88) replied with 17 points and center Michalis Perakis (207-84) added 11 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Lavrio. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Filathlitikos (5-0) have an impressive five-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Nea Kifisia. Lavrio at the other side dropped to the fifth place with two games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Lavrio will play next round against Agia Paraskevis trying to get back on the winning streak. Filathlitikos will try to continue on its current victory against ninth ranked Irakleio on the road.
