Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Athens: Panathinaikos (#3) and Olympiakos (#8). Panathinaikos (5-0) crushed visiting Olympiakos (1-4) by 31 points 85-54. The game without a history. Panathinaikos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Olympiakos' 20 and made 18-of-20 charity shots (90.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Olympiakos 42-27 including a 34-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Panathinaikos players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Olympiakos' players. American power forward Diana Delva (188-88, college: Hartford) nailed 15 points for the winning side and international guard Dimitra Kalentzou (174-78) accounted for 11 points. Panathinaikos' coach felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Evi Kiriatzidou (181) came up with 22 points and 5 rebounds and guard Rafaela Soultani (172-91) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Olympiakos in the defeat. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Panathinaikos. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Athinaikos and AO Ellinikou. Newly promoted Olympiakos dropped to the ninth place with four games lost. They share the position with Ikaros Kalitheas. Panathinaikos' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Athens to the arena Athinaikos.
