Regular Season Round 7: Racing - AB Contern 51-60

Bottom-ranked Racing is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fifth consecutive match to third ranked AB Contern (4-2) 60-51 on Saturday evening. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 60-51. AB Contern forced 28 Racing turnovers. Strangely Racing outrebounded AB Contern 48-35 including a 37-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward Bridget Yoerger (180-87, college: S.Dakota, agency: LBM Management) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. German center Nadine Grieb (184-87) accounted for 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. American swingman Kayla Tetschlag (182-89, college: Wisc.-Green Bay) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 17 rebounds and the other American import power forward Celeste Stevenson (180-82, college: W.Texas A&M) added 13 points and 14 rebounds respectively for Racing in the defeat. AB Contern maintains third place with 4-2 record having just two points less than leader Etzella. Racing lost their fifth game in a row. They still closes the standings with five games lost. AB Contern will meet at home T71 Dudelange (#5) in the next round. Racing will play against Sparta in Bertrange and hopes to get finally their first victory.
