Regular Season Round 3: MIA Academy - TSU Tbilisi 82-68

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked MIA as it allowed them to take a leadership position. MIA defeated 7th ranked TSU in Tbilisi 82-68. The game was mostly controlled by MIA. TSU managed to win second period 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. MIA forced 24 TSU turnovers. It was a great shooting night for MIA especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by TSU's players. 24 personal fouls committed by TSU helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for American center Kirk Archibeque (205-84, college: Fort Lewis) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds. His fellow American import power forward Chad Prewitt (206-80, college: Arizona St., agency: Priority Sports) helped adding 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. MIA's coach Giorgos Ketselidis used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Serzhi Aselaini with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Givi Bakradze (185-91) scored 24 points. MIA have a solid series of three victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Rustavi. TSU at the other side keeps the seventh place with two games lost. TSU will play next round against strong Olimpi trying to get back on the winning streak. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena of Olimpi. MIA will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Energy Invest in Rustavi.
