The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Gorizont as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Gorizont smashed bottom-ranked BrGU COR Victoria in Minsk 118-33. The game without a history. Gorizont led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding BrGU COR Victoria to just 4 points in first quarter. Gorizont held BrGU COR Victoria to an opponent 24.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 53.9 percent accuracy of the winners. Gorizont forced 30 BrGU COR Victoria turnovers and outrebounded them 55-26 including a 18-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Gorizont looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by BrGU COR Victoria's players. Worth to mention a great performance of international center Maryna Ivashchanka (190-93) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 8 rebounds. Russian-Ukrainian center Aleksandra Khomenchuk (202-89) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Five Gorizont players scored in double figures. Guard Ludmila Korinchuk (173-95) replied with 8 points and 5 rebounds and guard Ekaterina Shestilovskaya (180-93) added 6 points in the effort for BrGU COR Victoria. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gorizont have a solid three-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Olimpia. BrGU COR Victoria at the other side still closes the standings with two games lost. BrGU COR Victoria will play next round against strong Tsmoki-Minsk trying to get back on the winning streak. Gorizont will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
