Regular Season Round 7: Landes - Lyon 57-60

The most shocking disappointment of round 7 was only three-point a home defeat of 5th ranked Basket Landes (4-3) to sixth ranked Lyon (5-2) 60-57. It ended the two-game winning streak of Basket Landes. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 19-8 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great evening for forward Leslie Ardon (181-79) who led her team to a victory scoring 20 points and 5 rebounds. German forward Romy Baer (187-87) helped adding 8 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Lyon's coach Laurent Buffard used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side Anais Le Gluher (175-82) responded with 16 points and American-Dominican Carmen Guzman (172-85, college: UAB, agency: Merit Sports) scored 9 points and 5 assists. Lyon have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Basket Landes at the other side dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with Mondeville and Toulouse. Lyon is looking forward to face league's leader Lattes Montpellier at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Basket Landes will play against Bourges (#3) and is hoping to win this game.
