Regular Season Round 3: Liaoning - Heilongjiang 92-73

The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Liaoning Hengye as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (Bayi Kylin) loss. Liaoning Hengye smashed 8th ranked Heilongjiang Chenneng in Anshan 92-73. Heilongjiang Chenneng was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Liaoning Hengye dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Heilongjiang Chenneng's 50. It was an exceptional evening for Belarusian center Yelena Leuchanka (196-83, college: W.Virginia) who led the winners and scored 26 points (perfect from the field making all thirteen shots !!!). The former international forward Xiaoli Chen (193-82) accounted for 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Four Liaoning Hengye players scored in double figures. Liaoning Hengye's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international guard YanYan Ji (182-85) came up with 28 points and 7 assists and American center Sasha Goodlett (195-90, college: Georgia Tech) added 16 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Heilongjiang Chenneng in the defeat. Liaoning Hengye have a solid series of three victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Zhejiang. Heilongjiang Chenneng at the other side dropped to the sixth place with two games lost. They share the position with 5 other teams. Heilongjiang Chenneng will play next round against Shenyang Golden Lions trying to get back on the winning streak. Liaoning Hengye will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Jiangsu Phoenix at Yixing.
