Regular Season Round 3: Shenyang - Beijing 80-75

Not a big story in a game in Dandong where bottom-ranked Beijing Great Wall (0-3) was defeated by sixth ranked Shenyang Golden Lions (2-1) 80-75 on Saturday. Beijing Great Wall trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 19-13 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 75-80 at the end of the game. Shenyang Golden Lions looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was center Xuejiao Wu (189-89) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). International forward LiJie Miao (178-81) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 assists. Four Shenyang Golden Lions players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Sophia Young (186-83, college: Baylor) who recorded a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds and power forward Meitong Liu (188-92) added 16 points respectively. Shenyang Golden Lions moved-up to third place, which they share with Bayi and Henan. Loser Beijing Great Wall still closes the standings with three games lost. Shenyang Golden Lions will meet at home Heilongjiang Chenneng (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Beijing Great Wall will play against the league's second-placed Zhejiang Far East (#2) in Hangzhou and hopes to get finally their first victory.
