Regular Season Round 7: Vichy - Quimper 92-64

There was a surprise result when ninth ranked JA Vichy (4-3) crushed at home higher ranked Quimper UJAP (4-2) 92-64 on Saturday. The game without a history. JA Vichy led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. JA Vichy outrebounded Quimper UJAP 39-22 including a 26-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Quite impressive performance for point guard Benjamin Thomas (181-82) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. American power forward Justin Reynolds (204-88, college: Texas A&M-CC) contributed with 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four JA Vichy players scored in double figures. Nigerian forward Corey Raji (198-88, college: Boston Coll., agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) answered with 17 points and 7 rebounds and center Olivier Kolb (205-87) added 10 points in the effort for Quimper UJAP. JA Vichy moved-up to sixth place. Loser Quimper UJAP keeps the fifth position with two games lost. JA Vichy will face higher ranked Orchesien BC (#4) in Orchies in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Quimper UJAP will play at home against Rueil and be promoted back to the ProB just one year after relegation.
