Regular Season Round 3: Guangdong - Shanghai 70-86

There was a minor upset in Guangzhou where 7th ranked Guangdong Dolphins (1-2) were defeated by tenth ranked Shanghai Octopus (1-2) 86-70 on Saturday. The game without a history. Shanghai Octopus led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a great shooting night for Shanghai Octopus especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 60.0 percentage. The best player for the winners was American swingman Camille Little (188-85, college: N.Carolina) who had a double-double by scoring 31 points and 12 rebounds. point guard Xiufeng Shi (178-87) chipped in 19 points. At the other side the best for losing team was forward XinRan Wang (185-91) who recorded 17 points and international center Wei Wei (206-89) added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Four Guangdong Dolphins players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. It was the only win of guest team this round and in all other games host teams recorded victories. Shanghai Octopus left bottom position moving up to sixth place, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Guangdong Dolphins. Shanghai Octopus will meet Qujing Yunnan (#10) on the road in the next round. Guangdong Dolphins will play against Shanxi (#9) in Taiyuan.
