Regular Season Round 2: TWU - UBC 52-75

Date: November 3, 2012
The game in Langley, BC supposed to be also quite interesting. Top-ranked UBC (2-0) played at the court of bottom-ranked Trinity Western (0-2). UBC smashed Trinity Western 75-52 on Saturday. The game without a history. UBC led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Trinity Western's 26. They outrebounded Trinity Western 39-23 including a 29-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Forward Victoria Spangehl (183) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Kris Young (178-92) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Four UBC players scored in double figures. American guard Sarah Cleveland (173, college: Portland St.) replied with 18 points and Laurissa Weigl added 9 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Trinity Western. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. UBC keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 7 other teams. Loser Trinity Western still closes the standings with two games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
