Regular Season Round 7: Tapiolan Honka - BC Nokia 108-80

The game between closely ranked teams ended with fourth ranked Tapiolan Honka's (4-2) home victory over 5th ranked BC Nokia (2-3) 108-80 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Tapiolan Honka. BC Nokia was better in fourth quarter 28-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tapiolan Honka dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to BC Nokia's 48. It was a great shooting night for Tapiolan Honka especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. It was a very good performance for American forward Eric Brennan (201-89, college: Kutztown) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. The former international Tuomas Iisalo (195-82, agency: Court Side) contributed with 22 points for the winners. Five Tapiolan Honka players scored in double figures. American power forward Brian Moultrie (198-87, college: Armstr.Atlantic) answered with 23 points and 8 rebounds and guard Timo Riihela (193-80) added 12 points in the effort for BC Nokia. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tapiolan Honka moved-up to second place in Division. Loser BC Nokia dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. Tapiolan Honka will face league's leader Porvoon Tarmo on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. BC Nokia will play against Ura Basket (#9) in Kaarina and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
