Regular Season Round 6: Trefl Sopot - PGE Turow 80-76

There was a change at the TBL leadership position after last games. Round 6 most important game was a defeat of league's leader PGE Turow (4-1). They were defeated by second ranked Trefl Sopot (5-1) 80-76 on Sunday night. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of PGE Turow. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 25-19. But PGE Turow won second period 24-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Trefl Sopot won last quarter 17-15. American point guard Frank Turner (178-88, college: Canisius, agency: Court Side) had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international forward Filip Dylewicz (202-80) chipped in 11 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Trefl Sopot players scored in double figures. Trefl Sopot's coach Zan Tabak used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American guard David Jackson (193-86, college: W.Illinois) with 17 points and Serbian center Ivan Zigeranovic (212-84, agency: BeoExcell) scored 14 points. Trefl Sopot have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. PGE Turow at the other side dropped to the second place with one game lost. They share the position with Asseco Prok.. They were replaced at the leadership position by Trefl Sopot. PGE Turow will play next round against Start Gdynia trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Trefl Sopot will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked Rosa Radom on the road.
