Regular Season Round 9: Shinshu BW - Niigata Albirex 79-81

The most exciting game of round 9 in the BJ League took place in Nagano. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 4th placed Shinshu BW (5-3) to fifth ranked Niigata Albirex (5-3) 81-79 in the game for the fourth place. Niigata Albirex had a 22-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Americans were the main players on the court. Guard Nile Murry (193-83, college: TCU) stepped up and scored 22 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and forward Rodney Webb (200-83, college: Florida Atlantic) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. Niigata Albirex's coach Matt Garrison used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was center Wayne Marshall (211-86, college: Temple) with 21 points and 9 rebounds and forward Jermaine Green (203-80, college: N.Texas) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Four Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. Niigata Albirex have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Shinshu BW and Fukuoka Rizing. Niigata Albirex is looking forward to face Saitama Broncos (#10) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Shinshu BW will play against Yokohama BC (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
