Sixth-ranked Mitsubishi Dolphins (3-7) gave a tough game to second ranked Panasonic Trians (8-2) in Osaka. Panasonic Trians managed to secure only one-point victory 68-67. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Mitsubishi Dolphins were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American power forward Jameel Watkins (211-77, college: Georgetown) nailed 16 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side and international swingman Kosuke Kanamaru (193-89) accounted for 17 points. Four Panasonic Trians players scored in double figures. American forward Ron Hale (203-77, college: Florida St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 15 rebounds and guard Jun Abe (177-86) added 12 points respectively for Mitsubishi Dolphins in the defeat. Mitsubishi Dolphins' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Panasonic Trians have a solid series of four victories in a row. They used an opportunity after Toyota Alvark lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Mitsubishi Dolphins at the other side keep the sixth place with seven games lost. Panasonic Trians will play against Aishin Sea Horses (#3) in Kariya in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Mitsubishi Dolphins will play at home against Tochigi Brex and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
