The game in was also worth to mention about. Top-ranked Cascades (2-0) played at the court of bottom-ranked Mount Royal (0-2). Cascades defeated Mount Royal 81-67. It looked good early as Mount Royal took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Cascades had a 24-15 second period charge getting the lead and Mount Royal was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 67-81. 24 personal fouls committed by Mount Royal helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Forward Kyle Grewal (198-88) notched a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and Kevon Parchment supported him with 18 points and 8 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Four Cascades players scored in double figures. Even 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists by guard Awet Abraha (183) did not help to save the game for Mount Royal. Forward Nick Loewen added 16 points for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Cascades keep a position of league leader, which they share with 5 other teams. Mount Royal at the other side still closes the standings with two games lost.
