Regular Season Round 7: Porvoon Tarmo - SayRi 78-68

1st Division top team - Porvoon Tarmo (6-1) managed to deliver another win on Sunday. This time they beat sixth ranked Saynatsalon Riento (2-4) 78-68. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 78-68. Porvoon Tarmo forced 22 Saynatsalon Riento turnovers. American players dominated also this game. It was a quality performance for forward Jerrah Young (201-85, college: Toledo) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Isaiah Tate (192-89, college: George Mason) accounted for 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Young is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Forward Nicholas Pederson (203-85) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and power forward Eryk Thomas (200-85, college: E.Tenn.St.) added 18 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Saynatsalon Riento in the defeat. Saynatsalon Riento's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Porvoon Tarmo maintains first place in Division with 6-1 record. Loser Saynatsalon Riento dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. Porvoon Tarmo will meet at home league's second-placed Tapiolan Honka in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Saynatsalon Riento will play against Pyrinto II (#5) in Tampere and hope to secure a win.
