Regular Season Round 8: Latina Basket - Firenze 74-82

No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked Firenze (4-3) beat on the road 16th ranked Latina Basket (2-6) 82-74 on Sunday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 25-20. But Latina Basket won second period 19-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Firenze dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Latina Basket's 28. Swingman Daniele Casadei (199-81) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds. Forward Stefano Spizzichini (202-90) contributed with 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Firenze players scored in double figures. Guard Tommaso Milani (190-88) replied with 19 points and point guard Riccardo Tavernelli (188-91) added 13 points and 4 steals in the effort for Latina Basket. Firenze moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Bari. Loser Latina Basket keeps the sixteenth position with six games lost. Firenze will face Mirandola (#17) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Latina Basket will play against Bologna in Ozzano Emilia.
