A very close game took place in Formosa between La Union and Argentino. Sixteenth ranked La Union (4-12) got a very close home victory over higher ranked Argentino (9-7). La Union managed to escape with a 2-point win 77-75 on Sunday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. The hosts trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 23-18 charge, which allowed them to win the game. American forward Gregory Lewis (200-78, college: Winthrop, agency: Dream Team Management) notched 28 points to lead the effort and center Ruben Wolkowyski (208-73) supported him with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Four La Union players scored in double figures. Even 6 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists by American forward Kavon Lytch (199-87, college: Oklahoma City, agency: Dream Team Management) did not help to save the game for Argentino. Fernando Funes (192-83) added 17 points for the guests. La Union moved-up to fifteenth place. Newly promoted Argentino keeps the sixth position with seven games lost. La Union will meet higher ranked Boca Juniors (#12) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Argentino will play against Atenas (#11) in Cordoba and hope to secure a win.
