Very expected game in Mikawa where 8th ranked Miyazaki Shining Suns (1-7) were crushed by third ranked Hamamatsu Phoenix (7-3) 139-83 on Sunday. The game without a history. Hamamatsu Phoenix led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Hamamatsu Phoenix outrebounded Miyazaki Shining Suns 56-36 including a 39-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Miyazaki Shining Suns' players. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. Forward Kevin Galloway (200-88, college: Texas Southern, agency: Top Notch Sports) stepped up with a triple-double by scoring 19 points, 15 rebounds and 16 assists for the winners and forward Adrian Thomas (200-87, college: Miami, FL) chipped in 41 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds. Five Hamamatsu Phoenix players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Dominique Keller (203-88, college: Illinois) with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Larriques Cunningham (198-88, college: Lee) scored 33 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Hamamatsu Phoenix. They moved-up to second place. Miyazaki Shining Suns lost their seventh game in a row. They keep the eighth position with seven games lost. Hamamatsu Phoenix will face Kyoto Hannar. (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Miyazaki Shining Suns will play against Okinawa GK.
