Regular Season Round 4: Hapoel J-M - Maccabi Ashdod 90-71

Hapoel J-M can celebrate their first win this season after three consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Maccabi Ashdod (0-4) 90-71. The game without a history. Hapoel J-M led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The winners were led by American-Georgian point guard Jacob Pullen (183-89, college: Kansas St.) who scored that evening 21 points and American forward Craig Smith (201-83, college: Boston Coll.) supported him with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Even 18 points and 5 rebounds by American guard Chris Allen (190-88, college: Iowa St.) did not help to save the game for Maccabi Ashdod. His fellow American import forward Kenny Gabriel (203-89, college: Auburn) added 17 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Five Hapoel J-M and four Maccabi Ashdod players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hapoel J-M (1-3) left bottom position moving up to ninth place. It was Maccabi Ashdod's fourth loss in a row. They still closes the standings with four games lost. Hapoel J-M's next round opponent will be higher ranked Bnei Hasharon (#7) in Hod Hasharon and it may be quite challenging game. Maccabi Ashdod will play at home against Ironi Ashkelon (#10) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
