The game had a very big importance for second-ranked MKS DG as it allowed them to take a leadership position. MKS DG defeated 14th ranked Astoria Bydg. in Dabrowa Gornicza 87-71. The game was mostly controlled by MKS DG. Astoria Bydg. managed to win second period 23-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. MKS DG had a 35-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. Point guard Grzegorz Grochowski (178-93) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 assists for the winners. Guard Mateusz Dziemba (194-92) chipped in 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four MKS DG players scored in double figures. Guard Mateusz Bierwagen (194-88) produced 17 points and 6 rebounds and forward Dorian Szyttenholm (194-83) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. MKS DG have a solid series of three victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Slask Wroclaw. Astoria Bydg. lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the fifteenth place with six games lost. They share the position with AZS PP. Astoria Bydg. will play next round against Znicz Basket trying to get back on the winning streak. MKS DG will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Slask Wroclaw on the road.
