Rather expected game when 5th ranked Bulleen Boomers (3-4) were crushed on the road by third ranked Adelaide Lightning (5-1) 74-55. The game was mostly controlled by Adelaide Lightning. Bulleen Boomers was better in fourth quarter 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Adelaide Lightning forced 22 Bulleen Boomers turnovers and outrebounded them 49-37 including 20 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. The former international center Suzy Batkovic-Brown (195-80) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds. The former international swingman Jo Hill (182-73) contributed with 10 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Adelaide Lightning's coach Peter Buckle allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. International Rachel Jarry (185-91) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and international swingman Tess Madgen (180-90) added 13 points and 4 assists in the effort for Bulleen Boomers. Four Bulleen Boomers players scored in double figures. Adelaide Lightning have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Bulleen Boomers at the other side keep the fifth position with four games lost. Adelaide Lightning's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Sydney Uni Flames (#9) on the road and are hoping to win another game. Bulleen Boomers will play against Dandenong Rangers (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
