We should mention about the upset which took place in Lublin, where higher ranked Polonia (3-4) was outleveled in a road game by fifteenth ranked WIKANA Start (2-5) 92-61. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Polonia. The game was mostly controlled by WIKANA Start. Polonia was better in fourth quarter 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. WIKANA Start shot 20 for 28 from the free-throw line, while Polonia only scored two points from the stripe. They outrebounded Polonia 40-29 including 28 on the defensive glass. WIKANA Start players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Polonia helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was an exceptional evening for swingman Tomasz Celej (198-78, agency: Promotex) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. Power forward Marcel Wilczek (204-86) accounted for 21 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side. Four WIKANA Start players scored in double figures. German center Alexander Machowski (205-91) came up with 13 points and 5 rebounds and center Dariusz Wyka (207-91) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Polonia in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. WIKANA Start moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with UMKS Kielce and AZS Radex. Polonia at the other side keeps the eighth position with four games lost. WIKANA Start's next round opponent will be higher ranked SKK Siedlce (#8) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
