Undefeated Maccabi Rishon (3-1) recorded its first loss in Rishon Le-Zion on Monday night. Hosts were defeated by sixth ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (3-1) 80-63. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Maccabi Rishon. The game was mostly controlled by Hapoel Tel-Aviv. Maccabi Rishon managed to win fourth quarter 26-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Maccabi Rishon to just 6 points in first quarter. Hapoel Tel-Aviv dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Maccabi Rishon's 42. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Maccabi T-A and Maccabi Rishon. Hapoel Tel-Aviv is looking forward to face Maccabi Haifa (#8) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Maccabi Rishon will play against the league's leader GreenTops Netanya (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
