Regular Season Round 5: Chalon - Orleans 85-80

Very expected game when 13th ranked Entente Orleans 45 (1-4) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Chalon/Saor (4-1) 85-80 on Monday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Entente Orleans 45 won third quarter 21-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Chalon/Saor looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. International forward Ilian Evtimov (201-83, college: N.Carolina St.) stepped up and scored 26 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and the former international guard Steed Tchicamboud (193-81) chipped in 17 points and 10 assists. American forward Caleb Green (203-85, college: ORU) responded with 27 points and the former international point guard Marc-Antoine Pellin (169-87) scored 9 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Chalon/Saor have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Entente Orleans 45 keeps the thirteenth place with four games lost. Chalon/Saor will face Boulazac Basket (#12) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Entente Orleans 45 will play against ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket.
